In clear, well-written prose, Curren argues that the task -- while monumental -- is definitely possible. As the title suggests, he draws inspiration from the 18th and 19th century movement to abolish slavery here in the United States and, perhaps more importantly, in the British Empire. Drawing parallels between the "Slave Power" then and today's oil and gas industry, Curren's book is full of illuminating facts and figures, and of inspiring personages. I highly recommend it.
